Fans and media personnel alike are starting to grow tired of Sheldon Keefe as the Leafs head coach. One must wonder if Brad Treliving and Leafs management is starting to get the same feeling. NHL reporter Howard Berger believes that the Leafs will make a coaching change by the end of the calendar year.
Can The Maple Leafs Win With Keefe As Head Coach?
In fairness, the question of whether or not the Leafs can win under Keefe is genuine. While the team has consistently put up very good, but not great regular seasons under Keefe, they've only ever won a single playoff round. Their single season playoff wins record under Keefe is five. As such, fans of the team are starting to seriously question his fit for this team, especially considering their slow start to the season.
I've watched a version of todays game WAY too many times. One game this year (VAN) where I could see a potential Cup contender.
While there has been no indication from the team that Keefe's job in in jeopardy, if the Leafs struggles continue, perhaps Keefe's days in Toronto will be numbered.
