In what might've been the most puzzling trade of the season, the Maple Leafs sent Rasmus Sandin to the Washington Capitals for a first and Erik Gustafsson.

Kyle Dubas' gamble may have paid off, however.

A Panthers Win Guarantees the Leafs a Top-24 Pick

Nobody expected the record-breaking Bruins to be brought to Game 7 by the eighth-seed Panthers, but here we are.

The implications of tonight's game are massive for the Maple Leafs, as the placement of the first-round pick they acquired for Rasmus Sandin will be decided tonight.

If the Panthers win, the Leafs will be guaranteed a top-24 pick in the draft, which is massive in a class like 2023.

A guy like Dmitri Simashev, Brayden Yager, Samuel Honzek, or Quentin Musty could bolster the Leafs within the next few years, and make them a force in the future.

While the Bruins would definitely be a fun series, it would be a great win for the Leafs to face the Panthers!
