NHL insider Kevin Weekes shared a major development concerning a goaltender that played for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Major News for Goaltender Petr Mrazek in Chicago
According to Weekes, Mrazek and the Blackhawks are looking to sign an extension deal.
"Petr Mrazek has been very consistent this year in goal for the @NHLBlackhawks. He loves being there, has been a good fit, enjoys working with Goalie Coach Jimmy Waite. There's mutual interest with him and club exploring a deal to stay in Chi."
Mrazek, 31 has a 12-16-1 record, 0.906 SV% and 3.04 GAA, which is respectable for a team in reconstruction like the Blackhawks.
Mrazek could be a key player during the team's rebuilding.
Over the last few weeks, the Blackhawks already extended two key veterans and it wouldn't be surprising if another one was announced soon.
The goalie played 20 games for the Maple Leafs in the 2021-22 season.
