Michael Bunting is fresh off of serving a 3 game suspension for hitting Erik Cernak in the head, and he met with the media after today's practice to speak on the incident.

Bunting Never Wanted to Hurt Cernak

While Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe revealed that Bunting would not be returning to the Leafs lineup for game five versus Tampa Bay, Bunting still had to meet with the media to discuss his return, and the play which has kept Cernak out for almost the entire series.
We've butted heads a few times. But it's very unfortunate what happened; obviously I never want to see someone get hurt in this game. - Michael Bunting

Bunting also added that he sent a text message to Cernak following game one to see how Cernak was feeling, which was a nice gesture from the Leafs forward. Sportsmanship feels rare in today's game, so it's nice to see a gesture such as that displayed by Bunting.
It looks as though Bunting may have to earn his spot in the Maple Leafs Lineup back from one of his teammates, as for now Sheldon Keefe won't be dressing Bunting.
