Luke Schenn, originally drafted fifth overall by the Leafs in the 2008 NHL draft, played his first 317 games across five seasons in Toronto before making stops in Philadelphia, Vancouver, Arizona, Anaheim, LA, and Tampa. Schenn achieved his ultimate dream of winning the Stanley Cup twice with Tampa, but another long-held aspiration is about to materialize.

Schenn Dreamed of Playoffs in Toronto

On February 27, 2012, Schenn expressed his desire to play playoff hockey in Toronto during a post-game interview. After 11 years and, by season's end, 934 games, he will finally realize that dream. Interestingly, his playoff journey will start against his former team, Tampa Bay, with whom he won two Stanley Cups.

The playoffs are set to begin on April 17th, meaning Schenn will have waited 4,067 days, or 11 years, 1 month, and 21 days, to fulfill his dream of playing in the playoffs for the Leafs. The NHL's all-time leading defenseman in hits, Schenn aims to help the Leafs advance beyond the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2004.
