Steven Stamkos, the Tampa Bay Lightning's captain, might be on his way out, thanks to some revealing comments from Alex Killorn.

With Stamkos hitting free agency on July 1, there's speculation about whether he'll stick around with the team that drafted him first in 2008.

Killorn, who knows something about the Lightning's championship culture, hinted that if the organization isn't showing Stamkos the love he deserves, he might pack his bags. After all, Killorn moved to the Anaheim Ducks last summer, so he's speaking from experience.

"At a certain point, if they don't want you, he won't want to stay. "

Sure, Stamkos has been leading the charge for a decade, and Lightning GM Julien BriseBois wants to keep him. Yet hockey's a business whether the two parties like it or not. Stamkos is on his way to another 40-goal season, proving he still has what it takes, but will that be enough to keep him in Tampa?

The possibility's still there, but if the negotiations don't go his way or he doesn't feel valued, Stamkos might be eyeing the exit door.
