They don't call him 'The Worm' for nothing. In game 4 of the opening round playoff series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning, Corey Perry delivered a trip to Jake McCabe in front of the net that went completely uncalled. Even worse, a very similar play took place between the Leafs' William Nylander and Tampa's Steven Stamkos earlier in the game that did draw a two-minute minor.

Nylander Got Unfairly Punished

We'll start with the Nylander play on Stamkos. Nylander drew a tripping penalty after getting his leg in behind Stamkos's and taking him down. The Lightning would capitalize on the powerplay.

Later in the game, Perry was involved in almost the exact same play with McCabe in front of the Leafs' net. There was no call. There could be an argument made that Perry's actions were accidental, but even his own coach, Jon Cooper, has said Perry does very little on the ice by accident.

All's well that ends well for Leafs' fans, as Toronto was able to pull off a major comeback and win the game 5-4 in overtime and take a 3-1 series lead.
