Following an intense game three between Toronto and Tampa Bay the other night, fans began to question the seriousness of Brayden Point's injury. The injury in question occurred as a result of a play in which Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly drove him into the boards. Point stayed down for quite a while, and multiple fights broke out as a result.
The injury looked to be quite gruesome at first glance, and many wondered if Point would return at all to help the Lightning in this series. However, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper has hinted at Point's potential appearance tonight in game four.
This is great news for Tampa Bay, but begs an important question. Why did Point seem to be so terribly hurt during the game? Such a quick turnaround from such a serious injury is very uncommon, and many are wondering if perhaps Point faked the seriousness to draw a more serious penalty.
