This is sure to make an already unhappy Colorado Avalanche fanbase even angrier. Andrew Cogliano was hit head-first into the boards by Jordan Eberle of the Seattle Kraken. Eberle would only get a minor penalty out of it, and the NHL's Department of Player Safety has already decided on no supplemental discipline.
It has now been revealed that Cogliano has a broken neck and will miss the remainder of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, regardless of how far Colorado happens to go.
Cogliano, 35, has been filling a key depth/veteran role for the Avalanche, and his absence won't help in game 7, which is set to take place Sunday.
