Can you imagine the Pittsburgh Penguins without Sidney Crosby?
Insane Suggestion
After missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2005-06 season, one person thinks that the Penguins should trade captain Sidney Crosby while he still has value.
Journalist Mathias Brunet stated :
"Yes, at this stage, in the Penguins' place, I would trade Sidney Crosby..."
Crosby was drafted by the Penguins 1st overall in the 2005 NHL Draft. During his tenure of 1,190 games with the Penguins, Crosby has put up a total of 550 goals and 952 assists.
While it's likely that Crosby would continue to succeed anywhere that he would be traded to, it would surely leave the Penguins high and dry. It is also likely unavoidable that Crosby would be willing to waive his "no-movement clause" that would allow the trade to take place.
At the end of this regular season, Crosby spoke out about wanting to stay with Pittsburgh for the remainder of his career.
Crosby is the highest paid Penguins player, as he annually earns $8.7M. He chose that total because he wears #87 and is very superstitious.
So what do you think about this crazy suggestion to trade Sidney Crosby?
