Today the NHL's Department of Player Safety has handed down a major fine to Jacob Trouba of the New York Rangers for his hit to the head of Evan Rodrigues.
Last night the NHL world went up in flames after a penalty called on Jacob Trouba for an below to the head of Evan Rodrigues. The call was originally a five minute major but then reduced to a two-minute penalty.
Today the NHL has done a bit of course correcting as they have further punished Jacob Trouba. This time he has received a $5,000 fine which is the maximum allowable to a player.
NY Rangers' Jacob Trouba has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for elbowing Florida's Evan Rodrigues.
