The past year was incredibly stressful for hockey superstar Patrick Kane as the Chicago Blackhawks performed poorly and the biggest question was when he would be traded.

Traded to New York

Despite being a Blackhawk since being drafted first overall in the 2007 NHL draft, the 34-year-old ultimately decided to leave the team and join the New York Rangers at the trade deadline, hoping to bring a Stanley Cup to the Big Apple.

Dealing With an Injury

Unfortunately, things did not go as planned for Kane and the Rangers as they lost in the first round to the New Jersey Devils. While Kane faced criticism from Rangers fans following the series, they were unaware that he had been dealing with a lower-body injury.

According to Dan Rosen of NHL.com, Kane praised the Rangers training staff for getting him ready to play in the playoffs, even though he was not at 100% health. At present, it is unknown whether Kane will require surgery during the off-season, but he intends to make a decision before the start of free agency.

I commend the training stafffor getting me as ready as possible for the playoffs, he said. I felt pretty good, not like 100%, but I felt pretty good. We'll figure everything out, talk to the doctors and kind of see what the plan is moving forward."

I don't have a bad word to say about the organization I think it's a special group in here,» Patrick Kane said, via Mollie Walker of the New York Post. «I think they'll find a way to win."

I don't know what's going to happen in that regard. I think the main focus is just the health right now and to get that all figured out,» he said.

Hopefully all goes well for Kane as he's arguably the greatest American born player of all-time and one of if not the greatest Chicago Blackhawk of all time leading the franchise to 3 Stanley Cups.
