Brendan Gallagher skated with his teammates at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard on Monday morning for the first time since breaking his thumb in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Edmonton Oilers on April 5.

For the morning skate ahead of Monday night's game against the Oilers, Gallagher wore a no-contact uniform (7 p.m., TSN2, RDS, TSN 690 Radio).

WHERE THEY STAND

With a win or a loss in overtime or a shootout against the Oilers on Monday night, the Canadiens (24-21-9) will clinch the fourth and final playoff spot in the all-Canadian North Division. The Oilers have already clinched second position in the North Division with a record of 33-18-2.

This will be the eighth of the Canadiens' nine games against the Oilers this season. In their first seven games, the Canadiens are 5-2-0.
