Panthers Matthew Tkachuk speaks after being crushed 8-1 by the Oilers
The Florida Panthers' forward Matthew Tkachuk opened up after his team was crushed 8-1 by the Edmonton Oilers in game 4.
The Cats had a great opportunity to end the Stanley Cup Playoffs last night, but the Oilers finally gave a convincing performance to force a fifth game.
For the first time in the finals, the Panthers couldn't do anything to stop the Oilers, who ended up winning 8-1.
However, according to Tkachuk, it won't affect the team's confidence as they are set to reunite with their fans on Tuesday:
"We're in an unbelievable spot right now," said Tkachuk in spite of the loss. "We came here and after all that craziness got a split. Now we're going home [to play] in front of our unbelievable fans. They're so excited to see us and we're so excited to play in front of them again."
Later, he opened up about Bobrovsky's struggles and defended him, saying none of the eight goals they gave up were the goalie's fault:
"We gave up eight goals and zero of them were the goalie's fault," taking the blame for his goaltender."
Finally, Tkachuk revealed how he and his team plan to get back on track for game 5:
"We haven't lost a game in a while until tonight," admitted Tkachuk. "At the end of the day, back to the drawing board. We win, we learn from it and we put it aside, we lose, same thing."
