The Oilers had already done the heavy lifting by the 56th minute in their game against the Chicago Blackhawks, leading 7-3.

With that in mind, Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers decided to let 24-year-old goaltender Martin Berlin live out his dream of playing in the NHL.

Berlin, who is in his final year with U-Sports' University of Alberta is a hometown boy. It is unlikely he'll ever see NHL ice full-time, but this is a true memory of a lifetime.

Even better, Berlin had one save on one shot, giving him an undefeated record in the NHL!

In his post-game interview, he revealed he was studying for a Psychology midterm when he got the call he would be the EBUG. It's safe to say this was a case of social facilitation!
