Tonight a new controversy has been found and fans are accusing the NHL of rigging Game 7 between the Oilers and Canucks in the Canucks favor.

Earlier today the referee assignments were handed out for tonight's crucial Game 7 between the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks. The inclusion of one referee named Chris Rooney has raised some eyebrows.
Refs for @EdmontonOilers @Canucks are Chris Rooney (#5) and Jean Hebert (#15). Tonight's officials: https://scoutingtherefs.com/2024/05/45397/todays-nhl-referees-and-linespersons-5-20-24/

According to Scouting The Refs meticulous research the Vancouver Canucks are 10-0-1 in games where Chris Rooney is one of the referees. This places a massive advantage whether it is on purpose or coincidental in the hands of the Vancouver Canucks.
The Canucks are 10-0-1 over the past three regular seasons and 1-0 this postseason under referee Chris Rooney.

There is even some speculation this was done as a result of the injury sustained by Canucks leading scorer Brock Boeser that was announced earlier today.
If the Vancouver Canucks end up pulling out a win watch for fans to look back at this post and call for the NHL to explain the assignment of Chris Rooney to the game. With puck drop less than an hour away we won't have to wait long to see how big of an impact Chris Rooney and the referees will have on this game.
