Former Leafs Goalie Calls Out Mike Babcock's Big Ego
Mike Babcock has earned quite the reputation in his career, however, his outdated coaching style isn't loved by everyone. In fact, it cost him his job in Toronto.
Babcock Back in the NHL?
Since then, he has said he's changed. It's all but confirmed that he will work in Columbus.
As we prepare for the official announcement of his NHL comeback with the Blue Jackets, some former players have spoken out about Babcock.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere Calls Out Babcock
During an episode of Sportsnet's THE FAN 590's Morning Show, the former goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere spoke out about Mike Babcock's return.
"I had Mike in his early days, and I loved playing for him. He was very intense and demanding but, at the same time, was very well prepared. He was very confident in the way he wanted his team to play. I enjoyed the way he was off the ice too; he knew your wife and kids. I think over the years, he became too big, thought of himself too highly. Everyone makes mistakes in life, and I hope that he's learned."
Like everyone else who has talked about Babcock, it was fine early in his career. But at some point, his ego got too big.
Let's hope that he has truly changed if he's coming back to the NHL.
