Tonight will be a special night as the Chicago Blackhawks will be hosting the Detroit Red Wings as Chris Chelios is set to have his jersey sent to the rafters forever. Although it is his special night, Chelios sends a message to Patrick Kane, Blackhawks legend, who will be returning to the United Center for the first time not in a Blackhawks jersey.

Chelios sent a heartfelt message to showtime Patty Kane ahead of his return to Chicago.
"Patrick Kane will go down as the greatest American-born player... Just don't go stealing my thunder today"

Chelios, stated that Kane would go down as the greatest American born hockey player to ever play in the NHL and added that Kane would one day stand in the same place when his jersey is someday retired at the United Center. This in turn resulted in a standing ovation for Kane, a standing ovation that included the likes of The Great One Wayne Gretzky himself.

Patrick Kane has found his groove since his hip surgery, putting up point per game status with the Red Wings, 26 points in 26 games this season, silencing all the doubters.
It will be a night of emotions for Hawks fans as they see two Blackhawks legends get honoured in two seperate ways.
