Today a new set of reports have connected Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas to a trade ahead of the NHL Draft to a new home.

The Carolina Hurricanes have had a busy offseason already. First, they replaced their General Manager Don Waddell with Eric Tulsky. Now reports are indicating that the team is working to trade disgruntled forward Martin Necas.

At first Pierre LeBrun said that an unknown team was close to a deal with the Hurricanes involving Martin Necas. A short time later he would go on to reveal the mystery team hoping to land the Czech forward.

Carolina Hurricanes working to trade Martin Necas to the Buffalo Sabres?

Pierre LeBrun would continue his conversation regarding Martin Necas by admitting every team in the NHL seems to have an interest. However, at the moment the Buffalo Sabres seem to be the closest to landing a deal.

The Sabres have reportedly been open to dealing their 11th overall pick ahead of this weekend's draft. Combine that with their reported buyout of top-six winger Jeff Skinner and a trade begins to make sense. If the Sabres are going to make this deal it will come sooner rather than later leading into the NHL Draft.

As this situation continues to develop we will bring you all the latest news and notes regarding the future home of Martin Necas.
