Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney confirms Brad Marchand's trade fate
In the Boston Bruins closing press conference, GM Don Sweeney confirmed whether he intends to move Brad Marchand or not and Bruins fans will love the answer.
The Boston Bruins are well-known for being able to retain elite talent for years at a time and likely for the rest of their career. They managed to ensure that Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, and Tuukka Rask all retired as Bruins not playing for any other team.
It looks like current captain Brad Marchand will follow in their footsteps as today Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney confirmed that he intends on keeping Marchand in town for the rest of his career.
Sweeney on #NHLBruins Brad Marchand:
«He will be a lifelong Bruin.»
Marchand has played in over 1000 games for the Boston Bruins and has emerged as one of their top players since being drafted in 2006. At 36 years old, Marchand is entering the final year of his current contract with the Bruins and will represent them for at least another year.
It is unknown if he will sign a contract extension but coming off a 67-point campaign, he will look to continue to make an offensive impact for the original six franchise.
