The Seattle Kraken hosted the Canucks on opening night at Climate Pledge Arena.

The team stunned many supporters by pulling a number from the old Key Arena's rafters. Tod Leiweke, co-owner, president, and CEO of the Seattle Kraken, spoke first. In the process, he informed the fans that he was retiring #32 because they are the NHL's 32nd team and collected 32,000 deposits as season ticket reservations in 2018.
