A former player for the Pittsburgh Penguins and actual player for the Florida Panthers was forced to retire after having two concussions last season.

Retirement for Hornqvist

Patric Hornqvist has announced that he's officially retiring from professional hockey at 36 years old.

"Patric Hornqvist has retired from professional hockey at the age of 36, after suffering two concussions last season.

Hornqvist played 901 games in the NHL with Nashville, Pittsburgh, and Florida, scoring 264 goals and 543 points in that span from 2008-2023. He won two Stanley Cups.

Hornqvist was the last pick of the entire NHL draft back in 2005. Quite the career." - Puck Empire on Instagram

This is sad news for Panthers fans, who lose an important player of their team.
