Leafs Interested in Defenseman

Brett Pesce is a defensive stud for the Carolina Hurricanes, and also could very well be on the move this summer. Better yet, the Toronto Maple Leafs are among the teams showing interest in the 28-year-old.





According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Hurricanes will either sign or trade Pesce before entering the last season of the six-year deal he signed with the team in 2018.

Who else is interested?

Any transaction will happen before or on July 1, whether he's staying or leaving. The Leafs are showing interest in acquiring Pesce, but so are the Vancouver Canucks and Nashville Predators.


Pesce's name has been linked to a trade away from the Hurricanes for some time now, and would undoubtedly be a boost to the Buds' blueline. He put up 30 points last season for Carolina after playing all 82 regular season games for the club.
