The Blues are interested in Canadiens defenseman Ben Chiarot, per Elliotte Friedman.
It's not unexpected that the Blues want Chiarot. They tried unsuccessfully to sign left-handed defenseman Zdeno Chara throughout the summer. Chiarot, like Chara, is a physical player who might help their bottom pair. A player like him will be a good use during a tough physical playoff series.
Chiarot has five goals, seven points, and a minus-11 rating in 31 games with Montreal. He has 65 hits, and the Blues are a physical squad. This could be a match for both sides.
The Blues won't be the only team interested in Chiarot as the trade deadline approaches. Watch where the 30-year-old goes from here. Besides St. Louis, many other teams may use his services.
