Tuukka Rask's return to the Boston Bruins was always a possibility, and as time passes, it appears more and more likely.
Rask was back on the ice training at the Bruins practise facility on Sunday, according to The Athletic's Fluto Shinzawa. Rask was accompanied by Bob Essensa and Kim Brandvold this time, probably the clearest sign yet that he will be back with the Bruins this season. Apparently, Essensa and Brandvold were preparing Rask for a mid-season return.
The Bruins' goaltending has been uneven this season, with Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman both signing multi-year contracts, which made a Rask return enticing to the head office. While both goaltenders have improved this season, notably Swayman, it appears Rask, an established veteran, will have his chance to capture the Bruins net this season.
Tuukka the Bruins need you! Please come back.
