The process is officially underway and, according to RDS journalist François Gagnon, the special committee made up of Geoff Molson, Jeff Gorton, Bob Gainey and Michael Andlauer has already cut the preliminary list of potential candidates in order to begin the official meetings after the holidays.
"According to reliable information, the preliminary list of candidates has already been revised downward and about ten candidates will be interviewed in January. This search could perhaps begin earlier if the NHL were to extend its shutdown beyond December 26. This is certainly a possibility. Especially in the context of matchups between Canadian clubs and American teams."
Around ten candidates, according to the journalist, should be officially met. Gagnon proposes eight people that he expects will be interviewed, despite the fact that he does not have an official list of names on the table at this moment.
Former players Patrick Roy, Mathieu Darche, Daniel Brière, Marc Denis, and Stéphane Quintal, agent Kent Hughes, and women Danielle Sauvageau and Émilie Castonguay, in his opinion, should all be interviewed by the CH.
