Forward David Perron has been added to the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list, according to the St Louis Blues. On Monday, the Blues' top scorer could be out of Game 1 of the Stanley Cup First Round.

Perron's availability for the Blues' game against the Colorado Avalanche is unclear at this time as they conduct further tracing and checking. They'll definitely need Perron in the lineup; he's a key component of their offence. This season, he scored 58 points, including 16 in the final 11 games of the regular season. Perron was the first Blues player to average a point per game since the 2002-03 season.
The Blues forward had this to say about matching up against the Avalanche:
«We played them well at times this year, and the other times, they put it in the back of our net quite easily if we don't do the right things. There's going to be a lot more intensity, a lot more details that are required to have success. We know what kind of firepower they have over there. Also being disciplined. Our power play's been coming around more and more as the year's gone on, but we also know how good they are on their side and we'll have to be really sharp.»
The Blues also announced Nathan Walker and Jake Walman are two other names on the protocol list and unavailable at this time. It's all going to come down to Monday's news as Blues fans wait this out to see if their team will have all their talent available for game one.
