Few Habs players have made as much history as Saku Koivu. He spent 13 seasons in Montreal, where he had his highs and lows. Koivu has the most points with the organisation from 1999-00. The former captain spoke to Iltalehti, a Finnish media outlet, on his time in Montreal.
Even though he has been away from Montreal for almost a decade, he still feels a great connection to the city and its loyal followers. The best yet most difficult place to play hockey is Montreal. Then he added something unique: "Simplicity, and effort The folks there appreciate it. Their work ethic is ideal.
In 1124 games, he has 832 points on 255 goals and 577 assists. His best seasons were in blue-white-red. Succeeding as a team influences the mood of the city the next day, Koivu says. He expresses his gratitude to the team after its playoff performance.
Even if he didn't win a Stanley Cup with the Habs, he was a terrific player in the Tricolore.
