Kane was upbeat and optimistic when he met with reporters after his first session with the Barracuda. However, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet indicated in his latest 32 Thoughts piece that Kane may prefer a difficult trade.
Kane's current contract contains a $7 million cap hit and a restricted no-trade clause. According to Friedman, the contentious athlete wants to return to the Winnipeg Jets.
«A reminder that Kane has a three-team trade list, and, like many players, he manipulates it so that it's hard to move him. For example, I believe one of the teams on his list is Winnipeg, and we know that's not happening.»
Kane joined the Jets in 2011 when the Atlanta Thrashers relocated to Winnipeg. It was a rough 4 years before he was moved to the Buffalo Sabres.
We doubt the Jets want him back, especially after the summer's controversy with Kane, his vaccine plan, and his gambling concerns...
