Renaud Lavoie: The Canes were 100% convinced that the Habs Would Match The Offer Sheet
It's not just Habs fans who think Jesperi Kotkaniemi will be a member of the Hurricanes on Saturday. In fact, some members of TVA Sports' expert panel believe that Marc Bergevin will not match the Hurricanes' offer.
Renaud Lavoie even went so far as to say that this hostile offer is a joke and that according to him, the Hurricanes were convinced that the CH would match the offer.
«It is certainly a divisive situation. The debates must be difficult internally. That said, I wonder how nervous the Hurricanes are right now. This offer is a joke and they were 100% certain that the Canadiens would match the offer.»
Nearly 96 hours later, the Hurricanes must really be wondering if they made a mistake giving him so much money.
In addition to Renaud Lavoie, Félix Séguin and Louis Jean do not believe that the CH will match the offer either.
«My feeling is that Jesperi Kotkaniemi will not be back with the Montreal Canadiens. I think the Canadiens have a strategy and they already have a very good idea of what they are going to do, but they are going to make the Hurricanes wait until the last minute.»
