A new documentary series on black history in Canada will feature the Torontonian. "Black Life: A Canadian History" is the brainchild of Leslie Norville of Studio 112 and Miranda de Pencier of Northwood Entertainment.
It will be hosted by an African American Canadian filmmaker and span 400 years of history. Former Governor General Michaelle Jean and musician and TV personality Shad will be among the guest directors. When asked about his involvement in the project, Subban stated it was vital to share his perspectives as a professional hockey player.
"Being a Black hockey player from Canada, one of the few who have played at a high level."
-P.K.
The former Montreal Canadien hopes the audience would be intrigued by his heritage. It will be featured on CBC and maybe other places.
