After a disastrous start to the season for the Montreal Canadiens, and an aging star goaltender, it might be time for a change of scenario for goaltender Carey Price. Carey did everything he could last season to bring a Stanley Cup back to Montreal but fell short in the finals.
This season an injury and a leave from their star goaltender got the Canadiens sitting 31st in the league. The new President of hockey Operation for the Habs, Jeff Gorton, has a lot on his plate, and will have to decide if he will opt for a rebuild.
Three teams were front runners to acquire Price according to Pierre Lebrun: The Oilers, the Avalanche and the team closest to where Price was born and grew up, the Vancouver Canucks.
However, new comer Jim Rutherford, President of hockey operations and interim GM for the Canucks confirmed this week that young star goalie Thatcher Demko was there to stay and called him a franchise keeper, nothing less.
After comments like these from Rutherford, we can most likely forget Price in Vancouver.
