Former Toronto Maple Leaf Joffrey Lupul was recently spotted recently at a charity hockey game, with many other NHL alumni players, in his full Toronto Maple Leaf gear.
Lupul's time in Toronto was up and down before it ended
In February 2011, Lupul was traded from the Anaheim Ducks, along with Jake Gardiner and a pick, to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Francois Beauchemin. We all know how Anaheim fared with that deal in the end. Toronto got two good NHL players from that deal as well.
Joffrey Lupul would go on to play 280 games for the Maple Leafs from 2011-12 to 2015-16. He would score 88 goals and 94 assists for 182 points. In his career he had 420 points, including 205 goals, in 701 games.
His contract would go on to expire in 2017-18 as he was put on LTIR, at the time in Toronto it was called "Robidas Island". for an unknown injury. Lupul only ever had one social media meltdown on LTIR, which came in the form of a swiftly removed Instagram photo mocking Toronto in September 2017 reading:
"Haha failed physical? They cheat, everyone lets them."
Lupul would later apologize for the outburst on social media.
