There's a fair likelihood the NHL will impose new roster regulations that allow teams to temporarily go over or avoid the salary ceiling.
Larry Brooks of the NY Post:
''With decision having been made on Olympics, we are told that NHL/NHLPA are embarking on discussions relating to COVID-related roster issues including possible taxi squads, cap exemptions, et al when schedule resumes on Monday.
Also told that plan is for each team to have a "bye period" for an undetermined number of days during the original Olympic break as part of the revised schedule.''
"I think there's a decent chance we're going to see some changes to the roster rules when we get back".
