Sean Avery, one of the biggest hockey personalities, took to Twitter to enrage fans worldwide.
As everyone knows, COVID-19 has continued to polarise fans, players, and officials worldwide. Some believe vaccinations should be mandatory, while others disagree. Now the NHL is in the mix.
The NHL is reportedly requiring employees in New York City to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination by September 13th or face unpaid leave.
This is a huge sign for the NHL as well. Other sports leagues, such as the National Football League, require their players to get the vaccine or face sanctions. No word on requiring the vaccine for NHL players, but it wouldn't be surprising.
