The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Amanda Kessel as the inaugural Executive Management Program member on Wednesday.
An opportunity for women and minority players to work with executives in the Penguins partnership, marketing, communication, broadcast and hockey operations is available through the Executive Management Program. The first-of-its-kind program will integrate graduate school academics and community service components.
Kessel, a professional women's hockey player and Team USA Gold Medalist, will undoubtedly prosper in the program as the first participant.
«I am excited to learn from one of the best franchises in professional sports,» said Kessel. «The Penguins presented me with the opportunity to use my experience and love for hockey in a whole new capacity and I look forward to making the most of this program.»
