Nick Robertson's career thus far has been rather tragic. Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2019 draft, Robertson instantly looked like a steal posting 55 goals in 46 games in his first season after being drafted.
However, the following years were plagued with injuries that prevented him from making the NHL.
In 2021-22, Robertson was at a point-per-game in the AHL and looked primed to make the NHL jump in 2022-23 but an injury in December limited him to just 17 games, 15 of which were in the NHL.
Recently, Leafs reporter Luke Fox did a mailbag and answered a question on Robertson that does not look good for his future.
Considering those ahead of him on the depth chart, Robertson is looking less and less likely to make the team despite his upside.
He will be 22 next season and still could become a top-six winger but he will need to stay healthy in order to make any sort of impact.
