Insider Links Patrick Kane To Maple Leafs
Patrick Kane is still recovering from hip surgery and he'll miss the start of the season.
But when he's ready to come back, many teams should be interested.
Once again, he's been linked to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Another Source Links Kane to Toronto
As you may know, Patrick Kane has been rehabilitating from his surgery in Toronto, and it didn't take much for fans to start hoping to see him with the Leafs.
Darren Dreger provided an update on the situation:
"Patrick Kane continues to rehab from his hip surgery. He's been doing so in the Toronto area since July and requires at least another month. We know Buffalo has interest. He could help a lot of teams when healthy."
Kane would be an excellent addition to the Leafs' lineup. If the experiment of moving Nylander to center works, Kane could fill in on the wing.
"Can you see Patrick Kane being a good fit for the Toronto Maple Leafs? Well, if William Nylander excels at center and becomes a fixture there, you could definitely envision an upgrade on that right side." However, another team seems to be the top contender to get him.
Kane To Join Leafs Division Rivals?
The Buffalo Sabres are more than interested in Kane and they have something that the Leafs don't have: Kane's connection to the franchise.
Dreger emphasized it:
"Buffalo is one of those teams that is deeply interested in Patrick Kane. There is history there with Donny Granato, with Kevyn Adams, the coach and general manager, and obviously, there is history with Patrick Kane and his family in Buffalo going back many, many years."
The Leafs might be a better team and a better organization, but when feelings, memories, or dreams are involved, it'll take a lot to get him to sign elsewhere.
