A former Toronto Maple Leaf has hit the waiver wire and is in danger of losing his NHL career.

Today's waiver placements have just been announced and a former promising Maple Leaf was amongst the players placed on waivers.
Placed on NHL waivers today: Robert Hagg (ANA), Colton White (ANA), Jayson Megna (BOS), Brett Murray (BUF), Jujhar Khaira (MIN), Vinni Lettieri (MIN), Dakota Mermis (MIN), Nic Petan (MIN), Cal Foote (NJ), Mark Jankowski (NSH), Leon Gawanke (SJ) and Jeffrey Truchon-Viel (WPG).
Petan previously played with the Maple Leafs back from 2018-19 to 2020-2. He played 10 games with the Wild last year and only scored three points.
He will now be available for anybody to claim but if he goes unclaimed, he may wind up ending his NHL days unceremoniously.
