Flyers GM Danny Briere's Surprising Next Big Signing Unveiled
Daniel Briere has been busy making a name for himself this offseason and is now eyeing another big signing from a Western Conference defenseman.
A new report has come to light saying that Briere has his sights on signing defenceman Ethan Bear.
Bear has been moved quite a bit over the past three years, playing for three different teams (Edmonton, Carolina, and Vancouver). This, coupled with his injuries, has kept him from blossoming into the potential top 4 defenseman he is capable of.
Bear finished the year last year with 61 games played, 3 goals and 13 assists. More impressively, he finished the year at a +6 rating.
Flyers Defensive Depth
Signing with the Flyers would be one thing, but getting meaningful time would be another for Bear. He would have to beat out the likes of Cam York, Travis Sanheim, Marc Staal, Victor Mete, Emil Andrae, Sean Walker, Rasmus Ristolainen, Helge Grans, and Nick Seeler.
While that might not be the greatest thing for Bear, its great news for the FLyers and their defensive core, and adding Bear would only bolster their defense for a long playoff push.
