That report comes from TSN's Darren Dreger, who revealed that it was Dolan's ambition for New York to play a major part in the upcoming draft, due to his ownership of the Sphere where the draft will take place.
Unfortunately for New York, they are a team needing to make a blockbuster deal if they want to become Stanley Cup Champions, and without the use of their 2024 first-round pick as a trade asset, their moveable pieces are certainly limited.
For anyone that has followed either the New York Rangers or Knicks for a while, this isn't surprising however, as Dolan is known to be one of the most selfish and out of touch owners in sports, and if he costs his team a shot at a Stanley Cup run for a reason such as this, Rangers fans may never forgive him.
