McDavid will be making $12.5M until the end of the 2025-26 season, in which McDavid, then-29, will potentially be making even more, of course, his play until then being an obvious factor. But currently, McDavid, coming off one of the best NHL seasons in 30 years, is on pace to earn a pay raise in the future.
In the 2022-23 season, McDavid had a 153 Point season, the highest tally since Mario Lemieux in 95-96, and the 2nd most Points by an NHLer not named Lemieux or Wayne Gretzky. Along with a whopping 64G and 89A tally, McDavid was a near-unanimous choice for the Hart Trophy this past season, his third of his career. Only the Stanley Cup eludes the 26-year-old who has already individually won it all, and a cup win could finally guarantee McDavid's claim of being the richest player in Hockey, and already has done about all to prove so.
