Former Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask finally put to bed a rumor that has been flying around since the end of the 2015-16 season. The rumor was in reference to why Rask missed the final game of the season.

Rask A Last Minute Scratch

At the end of the 2015-16 regular season the Bruins had a must-win game to make the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Ottawa Senators. Shortly before the game, it was announced that Rask would be scratched due to a stomach bug. The Bruins would go on to lose the game 6-1 eliminating them from postseason contention.

When asked why he missed Rask maintained that he missed the game because he was too sick. However, rumors began to fly that Rask was unable to play due to being hungover after a night out. The rumor was that he was out all night at Buff's Pub. This rumor would follow Rask for the rest of his career.

Rask Clears The Air

In a recent appearance on the Spittin Chiclets Podcast Rask was asked about the incident and clarified what actually happened.

«I went to Buff's like five days before that,» Rask answered, adding that a former Buff's bartender was the one to start the rumor. «I got sick at like 5 a.m. that morning, and we had a 12:30 game. But yeah, no Buff's,» Rask said. «I was puking and [pooping].»

Rask finally confirms that the rumor is not true. He had been at Buff's but several days prior. It turns out it was just bad luck that Rask got a stomach bug when he did. Regardless this was put behind them and Rask will still go down as one of the best goalies to ever wear the spoked B on their chest.
