Recent reports have surfaced that a blockbuster trade is on the horizon featuring three teams, two of which are Canadian.

Three Team Trade Emerging Featuring Canucks and Canadiens

According to a report from Eklund of Hockey Buzz, a three-team trade may be emerging between the Vancouver Canucks, Montreal Canadiens, and the New York Islanders.

The Islanders and the Canadiens are discussing, and I've also heard rumors about the Bruins.

The rumoured deal is centred around the Canucks' Connor Garland, who Vancouver has been very open about their willingness to move. Montreal could be a facilitating team in getting a deal done, similar to the role they played in the blockbuster Karlsson deal this summer.

There is word this afternoon that Vancouver has granted Conor Garland permission to talk to other teams about a potential trade. Tight cap situation, see if there's a better fit around the NHL.

Garland Could Find a New Home

Garland is a pretty talented and young forward for the Canucks, who are looking to start fresh in their rebuild. Over the last two seasons, Garland has recorded 46 and 52 points.

AND THE FIRST GOAL OF THE 2023-24 SEASON GOES TO CONOR GARLAND❗️

His $4.5 million cap hit has been the big blocker in moving Garland, however, since the Canadiens have been able to place Kirby Dach onto LTIR, they may have the leverage to facilitate a deal that would land them an asset for doing so.
