The Leafs have certainly dealt with some demons in the early rounds and a stat that shows how unlucky they are will shock you.

The Leafs Early Exits Are Not A Sign Of Poor Play Rather Bad Luck

The Leafs have run into some tough opponents these past few years. It was pointed out that if the Panthers win tomorrow, something very rare will happen for the Leafs.

For the team that eliminated you sweeping the next round three years in a row, it shows terrible luck with how far you get.

If you take a team to 7 games and they win and proceed to sweep the next round, you likely would be winning that next round as well.

On top of this, the Leafs will have lost to a team that makes the finals 4 times in the past 6 years if the Panthers defeat the Hurricanes.

It is clear they built very strong teams and have just gotten unlucky. One bounce that goes your way and all of a sudden they could have made the finals.

Now with Kyle Dubas gone, it looks like the Leafs may have squandered their best chances at a cup.
