Boucha Passes

It was announced yesterday that U.S. Hockey Hall-of-Fame forward Henry Boucha has passed away.

In incredible sad news to report from Boucha family. The State of Hockey has lost a legend.

R.I.P. Henry Boucha

Henry Boucha played in only 247 NHL games scoring 102 points along the way. he played with the Red Wings, North Stars, Kansas City Scouts, and Colorado Rockies. He was once the most promising prospect in hockey having been selected first overall in the WHA draft and 16th overall in the NHL draft and eventually chose playing in the NHL to play with the Red Wings.

He is considered the greatest Minnesota high school hockey player of all time having led Warroad High School with 60 goals and 95 points in 25 games in 1968-69.

His career was cut short due to an eye injury after an intentional slash from an opponent.

Boucha also helped the US win a silver medal in the Olympics in 1972.

Our thoughts are with the Boucha's friends and family. May he rest in peace.
