Rangers Nearing Decision to Appoint Former Stanley Cup Champion as Head Coach

Among the teams looking for a new head coach are the New York Rangers, who have parted ways with Gerard Gallant after being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the New Jersey Devils.

Gallant has been behind the Blue Shirts' bench since 2021 and has led them to the Conference Finals last season.

Now, the quest for a new coach has started in New York, and a new development has emerged about the situation.

The latest rumor suggests that Peter Laviolette will be chosen to lead the Rangers.

He has been a coach in the NHL for more than 20 years and won the Stanley Cup with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006.

"Sounds more and more like Peter Laviolette as the next #NYR head coach."

An Announcement Should Be Made Sooner Than Later



According to the same source, the Rangers want to announce the identity of their new coach before the start of the Stanley Cup Final.

This means that we could know who it is as early as next week.

"The announcement could be next week before the start of the Stanley Cup Final."
