New Details Emerge of a Chaotic Tenure Under Former GM Hextall
Ron Hextall is known mainly for his fantastic goaltending capability and his tendency to score goals as a goalie. Hextall's excellence as a goalie has not translated into excellence as a GM with new details of Hextall's time in Pittsburgh being revealed.
Last offseason, Evgeni Malkin was on the brink of leaving the Penguins but Sidney Crosby talked him out of leaving the team and signing a contract. After signing the contract, Malkin said this to Crosby.
This was shocking but not as shocking as the Penguin's treatment of other players.

Trading a player in the middle of the dad's trip is an unwritten rule and finding out about your trade on social media is even more negative. The Penguins doing this shows a lack of care for your players and will deter players from wanting to sign for your team.
Thankfully for Pens fans, Hextall is gone and a potential new GM could lead them back to the playoffs where anything can happen. Just look at Florida this year.
