The KHL is top-four league in the world. This doesn't appear to be an obstacle for Nikita Grebyonkin, however.

Grebyonkin Named Finalist for KHL Rookie of the Year

In the fifth round of last years' draft, Nikita Grebyonkin had his name called out by Kyle Dubas and company.

Dubas took a risk on the overaged Russian winger, but that bet appears to have paid off in spades.

Based on the analytic of pNHLe, or Projected NHL Equivalency, Grebyonkin is on track to become a similar player to Jakub Vrana. However, Grebyonkin started his season playing less than two minutes a night with Magnitogorsk, and thus his equivalency is on the low side.

It is safe to say that the Maple Leafs may have a superstar on their hands across the pond!
