Former first round pick announces retirement at only 31

Drafted 20th overall in 2009 by the New Jersey Devils, 31-year-old forward Jacob Josefson has announced his retirement, via his Instagram account.


In the NHL, Josefson played 315 games with the Devils and Buffalo Sabres. He collected 64 points.

From 2018 to 2021, the Swede returned to his native country and finished his career with IF Djurgardens.
